Name: Chelsea Witt
Where are you originally from? I’m originally from Sandgate, VT a mountain town of 300 people in Southern VT.
What do you do for work? I’m an Occupational Therapist working in Hand Therapy at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
When and why did you start CrossFit/BootFit: I started CrossFit in September 2016. I had been thinking of joining a CrossFit gym but was worried about my schedule with 2 young children and a wrist injury. Threshold Training advertised a Bootfit class ( with no barbell) at 5:45 am and I figured I’d give it a try! Almost 2 years later, I rarely miss a class!
Favorite and Least Favorite Movement?: Favorite movement : “ The Chelsea maker”- not everyone has a move named after them . Least favorite : Airbike sprints *
*What was your first workout, and what did you think after finishing? Well, this wasn’t exactly my “ first workout” but it was close to when I started. I showed up to Bootfit and was surprised to find out it was a solo class with Tyler! It was airbike sprints, burpees and heavy kettlebells. I was nauseous for days!!
*Greatest CrossFit/BootFit Achievement so far: Because we don’t have PRs in Bootfit, I would say my biggest accomplishment is how I’ve progressed weights/ease of exercises during workouts and how strong I feel in my everyday life.
*Fitness Goal for 2018: My fitness goal for 2018 is to run 1-2 times a week and do a pull-up without a band!
*One interesting thing about yourself not related to CrossFit/BootFit: I married my childhood crush. I was in 6th grade when he was a senior in High School.
*Complete the sentence, “BootFit should… be on your list of things to try this year if you haven’t yet!
*If I’m not at the gym, you can probably find me….: Making snacks and meals, doing laundry, cleaning and grocery shopping ! But of course making a lifetime of memories while I’m doing it!
