Meghan Barnes

Meghan grew up in Burlington playing Soccer and alpine-ski racing at competitive regional levels. She decided to further pursue her passion by enrolling in the Green Mountain Valley School – a Ski Racing Academy based in Waitsfield – at the age of 14. Meghan’s alpine career took her across the globe, racing in Austria, Slovenia, Italy, and Germany in FIS racing. After taking a step back from ski racing in 1999, Meghan was immediately drawn to a new, closely related passion – coaching. First through working with her Alma Matter’s weekend program, and later with former Olympian Doug Lewis at his EliTeam signature summer training camps, Meghan coached throughout college and beyond, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Vermont in 2003. Following graduation, Meghan pursued many athletic endeavors outside of ski racing, including marathon running and cycling, before finding CrossFit in 2008. Like her husband, she was bitten by the CrossFit bug, and quickly became certified as a Level 1 Trainer. Not even pregnancy could separate Meghan from her WOD’s – she trained every day prior to giving birth to she and her husband’s first child, Maddox in 2010.
