Tyler Barnes

A life-long competitive swimmer from South Burlington, Tyler was a Professional Triathlete from 1999-2003, racing the draft-legal UCI format. During his tenure as a Pro, he represented the United States at three World Championships, and earned distinction as USA Triathlon’s Athlete of the Year in 2002 by. After exchanging his racing flats for a coaches clipboard and stopwatch, Tyler was introduced to CrossFit in 2005 by a work colleague, and immediately became a fan of the sport. After moving to Florida in 2008, Tyler became certified as a CrossFit Trainer, and began assisting local affiliate CrossFit Delray Beach with Coaching and Business Development duties. A seasoned marketing executive, Tyler has worked in the action sports field for the greater portion of the last decade, and holds an MBA from Babson College. He maintains numerous coaching credentials in multiple endurance sports, enjoys spending time with wife Megan and Son Maddox, listening to loud music (Foo Fighters in particular), and getting into mischief on bicycles.
