Many of you have commented on how exhausted you are from the last few weeks of training. You’re sore, you’re tired…and sometimes, it’s all you can do to get out of bed in the morning. This is a good thing; it shows that you’ve been working hard, you’ve been coming in consistently, and that you’re getting the right response from the training cycle. NICE WORK. That said, too much of anything can be a bad thing. This especially applies to hard training. Go too long without a respite, and you run the risk of getting over-trained.

For exactly this reason, we’ll be backing off with the programming a little bit next week. We’ll still have a hard WOD early in the week, but then we’ll be backing things off just a bit to allow folks to recover a bit. Towards the end of the week, we’ll do a test workout to see how we responded to the rest, and how we’re responding to the training; after that, we’ll jump back into our last 2-3 weeks of hard training before the Open.

Bottom line: if you’re tired, sore, and ready for a break, HANG IN THERE. You’ve got a short break right around the corner, and only three more weeks of hard work after that.

You’re all doing GREAT. We couldn’t be more proud of all of you. Keep up the good work!!
